The Fairchilds feat. Orianthi - High

This is my favorite track from The Fairchilds' Our Revolution album.

Cyril Niccolai - I Belong to you (The Fairchilds)

Lovely song... I especially like the way this verse sounds:

"You know my love for you is blind"

Leonard Cohen – Old Ideas

Leonard Cohen's new album "Old Ideas" is currently streamed on The Guardian's website before its official release on January 31.

After having listened to it twice, I can say it's better than "Dear Heather", though not as good as "Ten New Songs". Still, it's great and it's wonderful to finally have some new Cohen material to listen to. And dance to it if you will. ;)

I love love love "Different Sides", perfect song to end the album.

Dima Bilan - Blind Love

or Ian Somerhalder in a tux, with a mask, and being a total bad ass = perfect holiday fantasy. :)

Take That - When We Were Young - Take 2

I'm sure Alexandre Dumas must be rolling in his grave. No, actually, he must be rolling back - the first time he did it '93 when the O'Donnel, Sutherland, Platt and Sheen version came out - so he must be resting pretty comfortably on his back right now. I never thought one day I'd get to watch the three musketeers in 3D, it's like sacrilege! Compared to this, the '78 Russian musical version is gold.

Take That - When We Were Young

Not quite convinced it's single material, but visually it looks better than The Garden.

Le Temps des... Musicals

Because it's almost summer, it's hot, and I'm writing a love story (really? me? something must be wrong with me :P), I've been listening mainly to musicals lately. French musicals. Notre Dame de Paris (original Paris cast & Mogador Theater cast), Autant en emporte le vent, Romeo et Juliette (De la haine a l'amour & Les enfants de Verone). Dunno why in French they're called "comedies musicales" when they're all tragedies, but whatever. And, yes, I know it's not a good idea because they leave you all depressed, first because there's no happy ending, and second because whenever you try to sing along your voice can never go as high as the singers' do. At least mine doesn't. Anyway my playlist looks something like this:

Notre Dame de Paris

Autant en emporte le vent

Romeo et Juliette

And to end a few ballads from The Fairchilds' Our Revolution album: Unbreakable, High, Turn Back Time.

Yep, you can start weeping now! :)

Take That - Kidz

Since we've been talking about Steampunk lately, imagine my surprise when I saw the new Take That video Kidz. I really like this one, and it's been a while since I could honestly say this about one of their videos. I love the fact that it actually has a plot, even if it kinda gets lost towards the end when it turns into a concert, and being sci fi is just the cherry on top of the cake. I reckon abductions will be very popular for a while and think about the tons of fan fics about to be written. Captain Barlow FTW!

Take That - The Flood

New Take That single and video... big production just like the song... it will probably go straight to no. 1, but somehow I can't help feeling bored.

Stilbruch - My Name is Life

I think I've mentioned them before, but only now I bothered to look for the video. They sound even better live.

Garage Sale: Vinyl Records - Discuri vinil

I've had this pile of vinyl records laying by the foot of the bed for years, and today after moving them around for the 1000th time in order to do some cleaning I've decided there was no point in keeping them. I have no proper storage space for them and all three pickups are broken with no chance to find the missing parts.

So I'm willing to part with my beloved records *sniff* in hope they'll find a better home somewhere.

There are 170 vinyl records with rock, folk, jazz, opera and classical music and 70 vinyl records with Romanian fairytales and radio plays. The music records are in good condition, while the others are a little worn.

If you want the pickups we can negotiate that too... kidding... or not.

Translation of the post:

Am 170 discuri vinil cu muzica rock, folk, jazz, opera si clasica si 70 discuri vinil cu basme si piese de teatru de care vreau sa scap. Discurile cu muzica sunt in stare buna, cele cu povesti sunt mai folosite.

Am si trei pick up-uri stricate daca intereseaza pe cineva. :P

Update: We've bought a turntable! :D So the records are no longer for sale.

I'm not turning into a country fan, but I've discovered recently these two songs and I just wanted to share:

Lady Antebellum - Need You Now

Lady Antebellum - Baby, It's Cold Outside

The Ten Tenors - Swinging on a Star

As the year is drawing to a close I thought it was time to wrap it up with something fun. The Ten Tenors are my last discovery as far as music goes so here it is my favorite bit so far:

Listening to their albums on repeat right now and driving everyone around crazy, hehe.
