Double Release: The Strength of a Heart & The Night between Heaven and Hell

It's a big day today! We're celebrating a double release.

The first one is The Strength of a Heart, the second book in The Stolen Wings series.

The beginning of The Strength of a Heart was written in January 2012, right after I finished the first draft of The Weight of a Wing. When I went back to polish The Weight of a Wing, the sequel was shelved because there was no point hurrying to write it when the first book in the series wasn’t even out yet.

Fast forward to 2015. The Weight of a Wing was published in the spring and, despite my fears, it became my best-selling title. The readers liked it, several contacting me to inquire about the sequel. I think I frustrated quite a few when I told them I had to write another book in the Broken People series first, and I’m sorry for that. The Strength of a Heart surprised me because it turned out to be more of a love story than initially planned, but since urban fantasy walks hand in hand with romance more often than not, that wasn’t a problem in the end.

The book is available here and to celebrate its release, The Weight of a Wing is discounted to $0.99 for a week.

The second title released today, The Night between Heaven and Hell is the second installment in The Devil You Know series.

While checking my files, I noticed I began writing The Night between Heaven and Hell in the fall of 2014. I wrote about a page, I only had an idea and not all the details of the plot, and then I put it aside and worked on something else. Then in the spring of 2015, the first installment in The Devil You Know series was released, and I started to think about finishing the story. It was actually on my 2015 to do list, but with all the projects I was working on and the series I was juggling, I didn’t get around to do it and I didn’t want to sacrifice my Christmas vacation just to achieve that goal.

The right time for The Night between Heaven and Hell came in February 2016, and it was a good exercise to get to know David and Andrew, our resident demon and angel, who we will meet again in the next installment of the series, which I promise will be longer.

The story is available here. Both new titles are available for free via Kindle Unlimited.

I hope you'll like them. Leave a review after you read them, please. Thanks!

Cover Reveal: The Night between Heaven and Hell

The Night between Heaven and Hell
(The Devil You Know #2)

Ioana Visan

Demon David Blake likes things just as they are: an easy job, centuries of drama-free living, and those who stationed him on Earth none the wiser. But his so-called perfect assignment is soon met with problems well above his paygrade.

Teaming up with an angel was never part of the plan, but when the threat of a plague unleashing becomes very real, David is more than willing to join forces with Andrew, if it will keep the impending apocalypse from becoming a reality and, more importantly, if it will allow him the opportunity to go back to doing what he does best: enjoying a comfortable life while steering the mortals wrong.

Writing Update - February 2016

February was a busy month. I got The Strength of a Heart to the final draft and went through the first round of edits sent by my editor. The book is already available to pre-order on Amazon with a release date set to March 15.

I finally wrote the second story in The Devil You Know series. It will be released at the same date with The Strength of a Heart, on March 15.

I also wrote a commissioned short story for a Romanian magazine. It will be published in the upcoming issue, I think. More details then.

If you missed the story published in Argos magazine, it's here.

And last but not least, I translated The Impaler's Revenge into Romanian. It still needs a bit of polishing, but most of the work is done. The plan is to have all three novellas translated before the summer vacation, and then I'll start looking for a publisher.

In March, I'll start working on a new sci fi novel, The Chasm. Most of the plot is done so I don't expect any problems on the way. And maybe I'll write a short story for a Romanian anthology, too. Not sure, we'll see.

Until then, watch this space next week for two cover reveals and a big announcement. :)

Breaking the Chains - Cover Update

Breaking the Chains ebook cover got a facelift over the weekend. The fonts were hard to read on the old version, and since this is a short story and only available as an ebook, it is important for the title and author to be legible online on the small-size image. So we added new typography to the original illustration, that is TheBookLady did and I only fiddled with it a little. It looks better now.

Breaking the Chains can be downloaded for free via Kindle Unlimited, or it's $0.99 as a regular download.

New Release: Breaking the Chains by Ioana Visan

Breaking the Chains, the first installment in The Devil You Know series, is out on Amazon.

It's a short story of about 4,000 words, priced at $0.99 (the lowest possible price on Amazon) and free via Kindle Unlimited.

It all started with a contest on Nemira’s blog in the summer of 2009 when I was stalking Romanian publishers’ websites, hoping to win free books. The subject was “What is the Devil doing right now?”, and because my blog was in English, I wrote my post in English, too. My entry ended up as one of the winners, I got the book, and this was it.

Then the following summer, I felt like writing something fun just for myself. For a while, the story was available on my blog, and it gave the readers a few chuckles. Since then, the Romanian version of Breaking the Chains was included in my debut short story collection Efectul de nautil, published by Millennium Books in 2013. This was the beginning of The Devil You Know series, and hopefully there will be more stories featuring angels and demons and Lu himself soon. Obviously, this isn’t a series for very religious people, so I apologize if you felt offended by it.

So download it from Amazon, add it to your Goodreads list, and since it's a short read, please, pretty please, take the time to leave a review. Thanks!
