2014 June Reading List

City of Heavenly Fire by Cassandra Clare – I’m afraid a year spent on CC has totally ruined me for this type of writing. 2/5 stars Amazon Bookdepository

The Churn by James S. A. Corey – Good character story, but it would have helped if I had read it right after one of the books. 4/5 stars Amazon

Aculophobia (Ten Macabre Short Stories) by A. R. Deleanu – Deleanu is a good atmosphere writer, but his dialogues need a lot of work. 3/5 stars Elefant.ro

The Dark Tower 6: Song of Susannah by Stephen King – A step up from book 5, maybe because this one was shorter, but not as good as books 2-4. 4/5 stars Amazon Bookdepository

Rather slow on reading this month, and it's not like I wrote that much either, but I did edit two novels so that must count for something.

ReadWave Sci-Fi & Fantasy Theme

In case you didn't know it, I'm one of the editors of ReadWave Sci-Fi & Fantasy Theme.

Submit your 800-word sci fi & fantasy stories to ReadWave, short stories and excerpts only. If they're accepted, here's your chance to get a few extra readers.

Things that are unlikely to pass by me:
- poor grammar, spelling and punctuation;
- mixed tenses;
- head-hopping;
- passive voice and state-of-being verbs.

And this is all before getting to the plot and characters. Oh, and I hope I won't have to repeat the obvious, but the stories do need to include either sci fi or fantasy elements.

I'm looking forward to reading your work.
